Professor Mike "Animal" Loureiro’s passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is evident in his rapid rise to black belt, earning the rank in just five years under the expert guidance of Romulo Bittencourt, Alexandre Nunes, and Marco Teixeira. His journey began in 2002 with wrestling, which laid the foundation for his transition to BJJ in 2008. Most of his training was at the Renzo Gracie Newark Academy, with regular visits to the Gracie NY Academy.

Professor Animal’s commitment to fundamentals and attention to detail are key to his success, both on and off the mat. He brings an open-minded approach, incorporating diverse perspectives to create a dynamic and enriching learning environment. His strong interpersonal skills, paired with a deep love for the art, make him a highly respected and effective instructor.
